My view...

In order for some to succeed, some must fail. Some must be allowed to fail.

Well, that helped...

It turns out all the cops were bored in the medians because Sen. Kerry was here to stump at the fair. Another reason for me to hate the f-ing fair. And it really did a lot to improve my mood.

I am having a horseshit day...

just from my perspective, not global. I haven't even scratched the surface of shitty days in that realm. I spent at least 1/2 an hour crying on the phone this am to my spouse, I've had a coworker tell me it looked like a tire was flat on my car. It is really cloudy and humid here & today is the first day of the state fair, which I hate; there were cops everywhere on my way into work today- as if terrorists are gunning for a bunch of outstate cattle.

Inspiration for starting this blog...

It was Veruka Salt, thanks. Pretty much my fave blog right now, though on an admittedly pretty small list. Her recent "car insurance crisis" post is a classic, and a damned good analogy, too.

It's not that I'm depressed...

It's more that I am sick and tired. Here's my first list- off the top of my head & not comprehensive by any means:

White people who describe themselves as liberal and hold protests to end racism need to get off my side.

There is a Target and/or a Cub within three miles of my house in every direction. Sometimes I hesitate at the end of my block, debating the merits of identical stores. I usually decide by choosing the one where I'm least likely to run into someone I can't stand.

Traditional education models kill curiosity.
